From the Pastor: I will bless Easter food baskets tomorrow at 2pm (as well as at the conclusion of 2 other services mentioned in the Easter schedule). The blessings will take place outside.
If you choose to come to tomorrow’s 2pm blessing, please park your car in the church parking lot and stay in it. I will say the blessing prayers in church over my low-power FM transmitter. To hear this, please tune in to FM 91.1 on your car radio.
Once I’m finished, I will come outside. Place your easter basket on the hood of your car, or perhaps on the ground in front of your car if the hood is impractical. Stay at your car and I will come by and sprinkle your basket with the holy water. When you stay at your car, please stay at least 2 meters away from the people in the neighbouring cars – this is a requirement of the Grey Zone Lockdown restrictions.
I will also bless easter baskets after tomorrow evening’s 4pm vesperal divine liturgy and after Sunday mornings Resurrection Matins+Divine Liturgy. At the end of both services, I will say the food blessing prayers in church, then I will distribute holy communion. Once you go to your car outside, or if you have been waiting in your car during the service, place your basket on the hood of your car or in front of it. Once I finish distributing holy communion, I will also go outside, walk past each car, and sprinkle each easter food basket with holy water.
