Consecration of all humanity, especially Ukraine and Russia, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Thursday, March 24th, 2022

Glory to Jesus Christ!

As I mentioned in an email last week, tomorrow is the Feast of the Annunciation to the Mother of God.  We will have an evening divine liturgy at 6pm and the responses will be sung by the Metropolitan Sheptytsky Choir.

Just a couple of days ago, I found out that another event is happening tomorrow, namely, that the Holy Father, Francis, Pope of Rome, will say a special prayer dedicating (consecrating) all of humanity, with an emphasis on Russia and Ukraine, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.   The Pope will say this prayer with a ceremony in Rome that starts at 5pm, Rome time.   His actual leading of the prayer consecrating Russia and Ukraine is expected to take place around 6:30pm.

Catholics worldwide are invited to join the Holy Father in this prayer.  Bishop Bryan has asked our parishes and our faithful to gather in our churches, homes and workplaces at noon (Toronto time) tomorrow and to recite the attached prayer, the Act of Consecration.

To this end, at noon tomorrow, we will celebrate a divine liturgy at the Shrine, followed by a moleben, followed by the reading of the Act of Consecration, by which we can join our prayers with that of the Holy Father.  By the time we’re finished both services, it will be close to 1:30pm, which is when we will read the prayer in church.  If you cannot come to church, at least you can read the prayer contained in the Act of Consecration, attached to this email.  The papal event in Rome will also be livestreamed at www.ewtn.com/tv/watch-live

Let us add our prayers to those of the Holy Father tomorrow, it is for the safety and salvation of the world.
